Living Green!

Here are some pictures from the Jackson Hole St. Patty's day ski. Jake and I loved seeing everyone in their green!!! There are also a couple other little folks that wore their green that day! :-)

I had to share this picture of Miss Charly. Christy picked up the Cash t-shirt while in Nashville. She rocks it, doesn't she?!? These other two pictures of the snow we got yesterday. I took these right before dark last night.

Spring Snow!

Yesterday it snowed...and snowed...and snowed! It was absolutely beautiful!!! It started really coming down about noon and didn't let up until sometime in the night. Just when you think Spring has arrived...we get a dump! Don't get me wrong, it is a welcome site around here. We need the snow! The mountain doesn't close up shop until Easter Sunday so bring on the snow...at least for another week!
Sunday was a chilly yet sunny day. Tess and I took the kids ice skating (for the first time for both Arielle and Jake...and Alena). We first had lunch at McDonalds then on to Snow King to the ice arena for the public skate. Jake was SOOO excited! He wanted to be Apollo Ono, of course. I love how he can transition from Shaun White to Apollo Ono to DeMarcus Cousins to Chandler Shepherd to Tyler from Step Up (yes...my boy can breakdance with the best of them). Anyway, Gray was on the cranky side so I took him for a little drive while Tess skated with the kids. Brad was attempting to enjoy a ski day but he mountain was pretty much like skiing on an ice block so I don't think it was his most memorable day ever! However, it was a ski day none-the-less.
Today, Jake and Brad ran over for a couple of hours to ski in the fresh PowPow as Jake calls it (he has really picked up the lingo here). I took Jake over on St. Patrick's Day for a beautiful day of skiing. The snow was not the best the mountain has ever had but it was snow and the sun was shining. Everyone was in their green and Jake and I had a blast! We saw everything...a green spandex race suit with Speedos over top, a green bikini top, a fella in a green shorts suit dance an Irish jig while in his ski boots holding a drink and smoking a cig, and several capes with "Kiss Me I'm Irish" painted on. It was a show to say the least. I even got to chat with one of my favorite family members on the way home (Cindy...better know as Chan and Chels' Mom). It was quite a good day.
Last week was also a great week for the CATS!! GO BIG BLUE!!!! We will watch them beat Cornell(hopefully) on Thursday and then enjoy another game on Saturday. We will be in Jackson for the annual JH Mountain Festival and Pole, Pedal, Paddle so we will most likely watch the game with some friends...maybe even at the Mangy Moose! YUM!!!
Here are a few pictures I thought you might enjoy as well!

Yiggy Yes Yall'in...I'm John Wall'in

All of you C-A-T-S fans will enjoy this! Have you heard the song about John Wall? Well, until yesterday I had not. Jake was Skyping with Aunt Sissy and yelled downstairs to me so that I would come up and listen. He was hooked! We had to download it from I-Tunes and have listened to it at least 20 times since last night at 6:00pm! If you haven't heard it...I highly recommend downloading it. It is a great song for all you KENTUCKY WILDCAT fans out there. It is called " Yiggy Yes Yall'in (the John Wall song)". Download it! You'll LOVE it!

As we watched the game on Sunday ( a real nail biter that one), my Jake and Gray were sporting their UK warm-ups to support their WILDCATS. Jake, with his very creative imagination, decided to rummage thru my headbands and found this white stretchy one that resembled that of one famous UK player. The resemblance is uncanny don't you think?!? :-) He and Cousins are quite a pair!

Here are a couple other photos I wanted to share. John Wall is doing his "dance" here in this photo. The last photo is of Aunt Sissy posed with Demarcus Cousins at a UK Football game.
C-A-T-S CATS, CATS, CATS!!!!! GO BIG BLUE!!!!

Kids in Action!

Check out little miss Charly Paige and her new piggies! She looks like such a big girl. Graybird is sporting his brother's helmet and riding his little motorcycle. He looks like a tough guy, huh?!? Jake and Gray decided to make homemade sugar cookies...Graybird really likes the icing. Aunt Kak poses for a picture with Jake and Brylee at Brylee's Spring recital last year. I told Kak I needed more pictures but being 8 months pregnant...I will give her a break. :-)

Dick's Ditch Slalom

The last couples of days were beauties here in the Jackson Hole area. We spent the bulk of our days over at the village skiing and taking in the sunshine. Saturday was spectacular and Sunday was...ALMOST as good...it clouded up in the afternoon and the snow was quite crunchy. Nonetheless...great day. The annual Dick's Ditch Slalom Race was held Sat and Sun at Jackson Home Mountain Resort. Jake and I were fortunate enough to watch both days with Sunday being a real treat. Our friend Ranyon (Tess's husband) snowboarded in the race and WON in his division!!! Congratulations to Ranyon! Tess and the girls came up the mountain and joined Jake and I for a few laps before lunch. We took the kids in the halfpipe a couple of times where both Arielle and Jake showed us their gnarly skills . :-) Brad and Gray met us and we headed up the Gondola for lunch with our dear friends. After lunch, Brad skied for a bit and I took the boys to Kmart for a minute...even drove with the windows down. We had a wonderful day enjoying the sun, the race, and our great friends.

Yesterday was also a very special day because my gorgeous cousin Lynden turned 21!!! I feel so old!!!! Happy Birthday to you beautiful girl. We love you.

Today, Brad is researching at the library, Jake slept til noon, Graybird and I worked on getting Baby Beau's (nephew soon to be born) clothes ready to take in May and the crockpot has dinner simmering. Great Day!

Lucky Mama!

Today was a beautiful day.. here and in our hometown of Louisa and in Lexington. The sun was shining in all places and all was good. The family was talking about how gorgeous the sunshine was just as I was bragging on our beautiful day here. Christy even sent me a video on her phone of Charly Paige walking around in their back yard chasing Daisy (the dog). The sun was a very welcome change for all.
Brad and I spent the day with the boys in Jackson. I skied with Jake during the morning and early afternoon while Brad got to ski the late afternoon (he hung with Gray taking in some Jackson sites). Today was one of the best ski days I have had all year. While we are in DESPERATE need of snow out here, the temperature was perfect, the sun was glorious, and the snow was quite soft and fluffy (it did turn into mashed potatoes by the end of the afternoon...but I am not complaining). Jake and I headed straight up the mountain to tackle the half-pipe. I had never been in the half-pipe before but Brad had taken Jake so he wanted to teach me. I honestly thought I would just ski the top of it on the flat portion and let Jake show me what he could do...but as 5 year olds are...he insisted that I join him. So...to please my dear Jake...I MADE IT DOWN THE HALF-PIPE!!! He was quite pleased with his dear Mama. I must admit, I had more fun than he did. I had so much fun that Jake and I decided to venture into the half-pipe 4 times. It was a blast and I plan to go back tomorrow. Pray that I don't break anything! I am one lucky Mama to have such a talented and loving son. I love that he wants us to be such a big part of everything he does. I know that won't last forever...but I am soaking it up for now.
As for my Graybird, he is learning some new words. Today he said "Tess" to our friend Tess (he flirts with her every time he sees her). She was quite pleased. He has also picked up dog bowl, football, cheese, I love you...just to mention a few of the words he uses regularly. Of course Daddy and GaGa (glowworm...never leave home without it) are used at least a thousand times each daily. He is just as busy as you might expect a 19 month old to be...maybe a little more actually. He is VERY busy and keeps us hopping. I wouldn't have it any other way...that's my Graybird. My favorite thing he doing lately is his kisses...big wide mouth coming at you to plant one right on your lips. Be still my heart. Again, I am certainly one lucky Mama.
